Are we going to repeat history? The lies that started the Atlanta race riot & the anti-Muslim lies & sensationalism today

For those of you who have been paying attention, there has been lots of anti-Muslim stories circulating the internet (as shown on https://www.pinterest.com/allysonabuhajar/fear-mongering-for-anti-islammuslim-dummies/), and in my view, also outright sensationalism (keep in mind that "sensationalism" can be a bit subjective. Wordnik's definition of "sensationalism" is "The use of sensational matter or methods, especially in writing, journalism, or politics", and since in my eyes, many websites do it, it seems like they are using sensationalism).

This is definitely not the first time that this happened. I can tell you countless times where the media has lied, stretched the truth and/or practiced sensationalism, but for now, I'll refer to the Atlanta Race Riot

The main similarity here is that there are media outlets that lie and/or sensationalizes events, and there are less than stellar relations between groups of people.

To give you an idea how bad this is, look at The Islamophobia Network, which does connect at least some of the dots when it comes to the media that collectively demonises Muslims. And be sure to check out the links in the "Social-issue must reads" section to the right of this article.

Not sure what else to say.

Thank you for reading this article.
